The May 2029 term starts on Friday, 8 June 2029, and the end term exam is on Sunday, 9 September 2029. DS and ES students follow one shared schedule.

ES exam dates for the May 2029 term

The ES rows match the DS rows exactly. This is the first May term in the table with three programming quiz 2 days.

What each exam is

• Quiz 1 (15 July): your first quiz at an exam centre, testing weeks 1 to 4.
• Programming quiz 1 (28 and 29 July): OPPE 1, on a Saturday and a Sunday.
• Quiz 2 (12 August): your second centre quiz, testing weeks 1 to 8.
• Programming quiz 2 (19 August, 26 August and 2 September): OPPE 2, across three Sundays. Not every course has one, so see the OPPE guide.
• End term (9 September): the final exam of each course, 1.5 hours long. The end term post covers who can sit for it.

How to plan this term

• Quiz 1 is 37 days after the start, and programming quiz 1 comes 13 days after Quiz 1.
• You then get 14 days before Quiz 2. It is your last calm fortnight of the term.
• From 12 August to 9 September there is an exam every Sunday: five Sundays in a row.
• The end term comes just 7 days after the last programming quiz day. Build your end term notes during July, not in September.

Common questions

Are all three programming quiz 2 days on Sundays?

Yes. The handbook lists Sunday, 19 August, Sunday, 26 August and Sunday, 2 September 2029. It does not say who writes on which day, so keep all three free for now.

I missed the January 2029 end term. When is my make-up?

Write it at this term's end term, on 9 September 2029. The make-up is only for students who missed the end term alone, and it is allowed once.

How much does a missed end term make-up cost?

The handbook sets it at Rs 1,000 for each Foundation course and Rs 2,000 for each Diploma or Degree course. That is far less than repeating the whole course, which costs the full course fee.

How many courses should I take in a term this packed?

The handbook does not give advice on this. It only limits you by your CCC and to at most 4 final exams a term. If five exam Sundays in a row worry you, fewer courses may suit you better.
