Which Companies Hire IITM BS Students? Logos vs Real Numbers

The most useful official answer is in the Batch 2025 Summary. Among the 343 working graduates, the most common employers were IITs (20 people, 15 of them at IIT Madras), TCS (8) and Deloitte (7). The report says the full list has 245 different companies, so graduates are spread thinly across many firms. The logo wall on the placement portal shows companies the placement cell works with. It does not show how many students each one hired.

Top employers in the Batch 2025 Summary

The Batch 2025 Summary follows Data Science students who finished the BSc level during 2024. Their status was compiled in December 2025. It lists "a few" employers:

So 79 of the 343 working graduates are in this table. The other 264 are spread across the rest of the 245 companies.

How to read this list

• It is where people work, not how they got there. The summary does not say how each job was found. It could be through the placement cell, through another college, or a job the person already had.
• Many had another degree or a job. In this batch, 435 of 545 were dual degree students or working people.
• No job titles. The report does not say what roles people hold, including at the IITs.
• One batch only. A different batch could show different names.

Logo lists are not hiring counts

The placement portal has a "Partners and Prominent Recruiters" section with many logos. The logos include Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, Samsung, Deloitte and Tiger Analytics. There is also an "Our Recruiters" page with columns for company name, sector and location, but no hiring counts or years.

A logo can mean one posted opening, one hire or a wider partnership. The page does not say which. Compare this with the Batch 2025 table: Amazon appears with 3 people and Google with 2. For Microsoft, we found no official hiring count.

When you see a big logo list anywhere, ask: how many students did each company hire, for which roles, and in which year?

The Career Choices Report of January 2026 counts companies and positions for jobs posted through the placement cell (IIC), but not their names:

The Batch 2025 Summary lists 2 people at Google. Microsoft's logo is on the placement portal, but we found no official number of hires. Treat single names as possible, not typical.

Why is IIT the biggest employer?
